Exotic Destination of Adilabad District
Telangana, the heart of Deccan Plateau in South Central India is known for its rocky terrain. Gayatri waterfalls, a less-known waterfall is situated on Kadam River, a tributary of the grand Godavari River.It is a definite and special treat to see this amazing waterfall, plunging down from a stunning height of 100 feet into the valley, creating a magnificent sight. It is an artistic creation of Mother Nature.
Located in a secluded forest region, the waterfalls is located in deep forest. It is located at a distance of nearly 5 km from TarnamKhurd village, close to Neredigondain Adilabad district. The huge pool of fresh water is indeed a breath-taking sight while the drizzling water makes you feel truly relaxed. Tourists also climb up the terrain here, for a top-view of the falls, and feel captivated with its panoramic view. The villagers living here also call this waterfall as GadidhaGundam or MukdiGundam.
You need to travel a distance of nearly 255 km from Hyderabad city towards Adilabad, on NH 7, to reach Neredigonda village. After reaching this village, you will have to travel further 6 km to reach Kupti village. Here there is sign board indicating a right turn to reach the village of Tarnam, followed by 2 km drive on a dirt road which takes tourists to the Tarnam Khurd village. From this village, you need to trek a distance of 5 km to reach waterfalls. It is advisable to be accompanied by a villager or guide, and mostly group visits are suggested due to the dense forest region. Truly, you will be amazed to explore this exquisite nature haven!
