Spectacular Waterfall, in Wilderness
The state of Telangana is known for its vast stretches of wildlife and teeming nature and Adilabad district has some of the dense forest ranges in the state. Adilabad District in Telangana is also termed as ‘adavulajilla’ (Telugu) meaning district of forests in Telangana. The region is home to extensive forest cover and the maximum number of waterfalls in the state.
At a distance of 37 kms from Nirmal town, you will find the enthralling Pochera waterfall. This beautiful waterfall is the deepest of all the waterfalls in Telangana. The location is completely secluded and surrounded by scenic environment.
The waterfall has great width and height, which makes it the deepest in Telangana. The fall is 20-meter high and flows down with a gushing force, and these are categorized as plunge waterfalls.
The holy river Godavari which flows through the Sahyadri mountain range breaks into small streams which meet at a point and become the main source for the Pochera falls. The bed is much deeper with a capacity to hold a large quantity of water. Pochera waterfall is unique and different from other waterfalls. Situated in the interior of dense forest, this waterfall offers a truly exhilarated experience to the visitor.
The extremely beautiful waterfall is a rare such destination in the country. The verdant and dense green forest around the waterfall makes it a natural habitat for bird species, reptiles, and many insects and hence serves as a nice adventurous location. The Narsimha Swamy temple located near the waterfall adds a spiritual touch to the beautiful location.
How to Reach
Pochera is located at a distance of about 47 km from Adilabad and 7 km from Boath mandal headquarters. It is accessible by road, followed by a brief trek.
