Bogatha is a splendid waterfall located in Wazeedu Mandal in the state of Telangana. Telangana region is home to some of the dense forest regions that host nature’s paradise at its best. Mulugu district in particular has some of the most dense forest cover in the region and is hence well known for its pristine nature. Tourists are simply amazed when they visit this beautiful waterfall located in the dense forest.
In order to explore this most beautiful and attractive waterfall, you need to take time off to visit this exotic destination. It is an amazing waterfall, considered the second largest waterfall of Telangana region. Termed as the ‘Mini Niagara’ of Telangana, the stream originates at Nallam devigutta, about 50 km from the Chhattisgarh border. Once it enters Telangana, it is described as Palavagu or Chikupally vagu. It was earlier called as Bandam Vaagu and locals consider the waterfall point to be very deep. It is formed on the Chikupally Vagu which subsequently merges with the Godavari River.
The water drops here from a height of over 30 feet through many parallel streams, forming a large
pool at the bottom of this magnificent water fall. There is an old Anjaneya Swamy temple located close to the picturesque waterfall. Tourists need to trek for some distance in order to reach the waterfall. There are many tourists coming here on weekends to explore this place while Telangana Tourism is taking several measures to promote tourism in this destination.
How to reach
The waterfall is located nearly 120 km from the town of Bhadrachalam. It is situated nearly 140 km from Warangal and 329 km from the city of Hyderabad. The recently built Eturunagaram Bridge on NH 202 has considerably reduced the distance taken to reach this destination.
