Religious destinations are known for their historic legacy and identity while Telangana is home to many renowned temples and historic places of worship. One such famous temple is the Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple at Yadagirigutta. It is a popular Hindu Temple devoted to Lord Narasimha Swamy, considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. It is situated over a hillock in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district of the state.

Yadagirigutta is a unique and pleasant hillock that enjoys moderate climate in all seasons with thousands of devotees offering their vows, performing pujas, kalyanam, abhisekam etc. while there are thousands of pilgrims who throng the shrine during weekends, holidays and festivals. According to legend, in Tretayugam, there was a sage called Yadarishi, son of the great sage Rishyasrunga and Santa Devi. He performed penance inside a cave with Anjaneya's blessings. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Narasimha had appeared before him in five different forms namely Sri JwalaNarasimha, Sri Gandabherunda, Sri Yogananda, Sri Ugra and Sri Lakshminarasimha. These later manifested into finely sculpted forms and hence this divine destination is considered as PanchaNarasimhaKshetram.According to SkandaPurana, there is a cave temple of Lord Vishnu where once the invincible Sudharshna chakra moved in the direction like a compass guiding them towards this temple. At this shrine, Aaradhana and Puja are performed according to PancharatraAgamam.

The temple is highly revered in Telangana region and is currently undergoing a major revamp, in its new form as Yadadri. There are massive pillars, gopuram, sculptures and other mythological idols being erected, in tune with the great history and legacy of the shrine.
