Parnasala is a small village located close to the holy town of Bhadrachalam in the state of Telangana. It is now part of the newly carved Bhadradri-Kothagudem district. According to the legend, Lord Rama had spent some part of his fourteen years of exile at this place.

The little stream here is believed to be a testimony to the belief that Sita, wife of Lord Shri Ram, took her bath in the stream, and hence the place is called Sita Vaagu. Another story which narrates the history of this village is that Maricha Rakshasa was killed by Lord Shri Ram at this same place when he arrived in disguise in the form of a golden deer to deceive Goddess Sita. It is noteworthy to find the famous temple of Sita Ramachandraswamy also located close by at Bhadrachalam.
