Declared as a national park in the year 1998, with an objective of protecting the richness and biodiversity of the area, the enchanting Kasu Bramhananda Reddy National Park is spread across an area of about 156 hectares in the midst of Hyderabad’s upmarket Jubilee Hills area.
The park is not only breathtakingly picturesque, but it is also home to a variety of flora and fauna like other prominent national parks. There are nearly 600 species of trees and plants within the vicinity of the park such as herbs, shrubs, climbers and creepers.
KBR park is also home to thriving fauna with approximately 20 species of reptiles, 13 species of birds, 20 species of mammals, 15 species of butterflies, and variety of invertebrates inhabiting this habitat. This park is also home to the magnificent Chiran Palace of the former Nizam of Hyderabad and other historic structures. It is a vital lung space, in the midst of urban Hyderabad, regulating the climate in this region and is also a key catchment area for rainwater, replenishing the ground water table. The stream running from KBR park to Banjara Lake and beyond, is one of Hyderabad’s crucial ridges, serving as an important water sink for the city.

The premises of this park is quite popular for joggers, who throng the walking path from the nearby Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills localities. The vicinity of the park is also a favourite spot for many walkathons and awareness activities.
