The National Park is spread over 3.5 sqkms of pure, untamed land. The Union government designated this as wildlife sanctuary in the year 1994 and over the last two decades, the park has become a thriving habitatto hundreds of species of plants and animals. Similar to most other national parks, the Mrugavani national park also boasts of least human intervention, in order to make sure that the living creatures remain undisturbed in their cozy natural habitat.
The park’s topography is made up of several rocky exposures, considered characteristic of Deccan formations. The fauna of the wildlife sanctuary is as varied, with teeming biodiversity. The wildlife havenis spread across an area of 850 acres. Indian hare,Russell's viper, Indian rat snake, Cheetal and the flower pecker,Sambar deer, Wild boar, Jungle Cat, Civet Cat, Mongoose, MonitorLizard, Python, Cobra and many other species can be spotted in this pristinedestination. The park is also home to 600 different types of plant life and prominent among them are Teak, Bamboo, Sandal, Picus, Palas, Rela etc.
There are facilities here for tourists like watch tower and walking tracks near the entrance from where you can spot the wildlife habitat. How to Reach
Mrugavani National park is well-accessible by road and located at a distance of nearly 25 km from the heart of Hyderabad enroute Chilkur. The park is located close to the Nehru Outer Ring Road.
