Telangana Tourism has made many strides in the last two years of its conception with a firm dedication and many novel initiatives for promoting the tourism destinations in the state. In this regard, the tourism department has come up with an interesting and creative contest in 2016.

Marking the World Tourism Day 2016 celebrations, the Department of Tourism, Government of Telangana is encouraging photographers and photography enthusiasts to take part in this contest. They have to submit their entries to the Photography Contest which has been titled “Capture Your Moment in Telangana” that represents the true spirit of this contest. It serves to highlight the state’s tourism potential in Three Categories namely Heritage, Culture and Nature. The contest is a well-planned initiative which is open to all regardless of nationality or age. There is no entry fee for submission. These photographs should be original and taken after 1st January 2016. The last date for submitting the entries is 21st September 2016.

Each contestant would be able to send a maximum of three entries in each category as part of this contest. The participant should be holding the complete copyright for the photographs. There is a prescribed size format for the photographs to be submitted and they must be larger than 2200x3200 pixels in JPEG format. The entries which are awarded will be exhibited on World Tourism Day 2016 and could be used by the Department of Tourism for book publications, events, website, photo gallery and for other tourism promotional purposes. It is indeed a great opportunity for both experienced and amateur photographers to be part of this contest that highlights the tourism potential of their state, Telangana.

These entries should be mailed to tstourismphotocontest2016@gmail.com or can be uploaded on the official web site www.telanganatourism.gov.in with clear details such as the name of the contestant and photograph, contact number, photo caption and category. The winners will be contacted via email and the winners list also be announced on the occasion of World Tourism Day celebrations on Tuesday, September 27, 2016.

There are many exciting gifts and awards that would be offered for the winners in the following categories namely ‘Best Photograph on Telangana Heritage’, ‘Best Photograph on Telangana Culture’, ‘Best Photograph on Telangana Nature’. There would also be an honorable mention to10 photographs. The jury holds all the rights to announce the winners of the contest that represents new initiatives being announced by Telangana Tourism, to make the state a numero uno destination, with active promotions, world-class facilities and also through public interaction in the form of such exciting contests.
