Mantralayam Tour
Telangana Tourism offers many package tours for the comfort and delight of tourists and one such tour package is ‘Mantralayam Tour’, which is organized by means of a non A/C coach, every Saturday from Hyderabad city.
The trip takes tourists to Pillalamarri, or Peerla marri. The place is home to a remarkable 800-year-old banyan tree in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, and a major tourist attraction, which is located nearly 4 kilometers from Mahabubnagar town. The tree has numerous banyan trees growing in its proximity, which are all originated from the same tree and is spread over nearly three acres of land. There is a tomb of a Muslim saint under the tree and hence it also carries the name Peerlamarri, implying Peer (saint) who was buried under the Banyan (Marri) tree.
The trip covers the famous temple town of Alampur, situated on the banks of Tungabhadra River, in Mahabubnagar district of Telangana. Alampur has the reputation of being the western gateway of Srisailam, which is home to an ancient temple built in the style of Badami Chalukyan architecture. The major deities at the Jogulamba temple are Jogulamba and Balabrahmeshwara. Goddess Jogulamba is also considered as the 5th Shakti Peeta among the 18 shakta peetams in India. Here, Goddess Jogulamba appears in a seated form on a corpse with scorpion, frog, and lizard on her head. This represents her naked avtar with tongue stretched outside, a form of fierce goddess who grants Siddhi in Yoga and hence called as Jogulamba. The place is also home to the ‘Nava Brahmas’ where one can have the darshan of the rare temple complex at Swarga Brahma Temple, Padma Brahma Temple, Vishva Brahma Temple, Bala Brahma Temple, Garuda Brahma Temple, Arka Brahma Temple, and Taraka Brahma Temple. Tungabhadra and Krishna rivers are seen in a confluence near Alampur, and hence the place is also known as Dakshina Kailasa.
This trip then takes tourists to the famous temple of Guru Raghavendra Swamy at Mantralayam in Kurnool district of AP. The Brindavanam of Raghavendra Swamy, located in the shrine near Tungabhadra River attracts many devotees from all over and is considered as a union of Kannada and Telugu cultures. Telangana Tourism offers quality accommodation and a pleasant travel experience with its transport fleet that make the trip pleasurable and memorable.
