Parnasala
Parnasala is a small village located close to the holy town of Bhadrachalam in the state of Telangana. It is now part of Bhadradri-Kothagudem district.
Telangana is home to many renowned spiritual and mythological destinations and one such rural hamlet where the great Hindu epic of Ramayana can be traced is Parnasala. According to the legend, Lord Ramahad spent some part of his fourteen years of exile at this place. The little stream here is believed to be a testimony to the belief that Sita, wife of Lord Shri Ram, took her bath in the stream, and hencethe place is called SitaVaagu. Another story which narrates the history of this village is that Maricha Rakshasa was killed by Lord Shri Ram at this very same place when he had come in disguise as a golden deer to deceive Goddess Sita.
