Somasila Boating
As part of developing the tourism sector in Telangana state, boating is now one of the prime focus areas. Telangana Tourism is creating innovative platforms for attracting visitors to the State.
New boating units are now coming up, and under this plan, boating facilities have been launched in the exotic location of Somasila in Mahabubnagar district where even big boats are now being operated. This has enhanced the reputation of Somasila, a tranquil region located in the backwaters of the Srisailam Reservoir, with full water in all seasons of the year. Somasila is known for the centuries-old temple of Someswara Swamy. This temple is renowned for its beautiful architecture.
A 40-seater restaurant has also been opened at Somasila, overlooking the reservoir. This is seen as a major boost to tourism along with the launch of boating services at Somasila, in the backwaters of the River Krishna. This involves ‘Someshwara’ a new 80-seater, twin engine boat. Somasila is located near Kollapur. With boating facilities launched here, Mahabubnagar district is all set to leverage its tourism potential. Tourists can explore the pristine waters here amidst teeming nature all around, which makes Somasila a wonderful tourist destination that captivates visitors.
