Telangana's State Formation Day
Realization of the statehood dream of more than 55 years, June 2nd 2015 marks the first anniversary of Telangana formation. Exactly a year back on June 2, 2014 Telangana came into being as India's 29th state. Telangana region is known for its unique dialect, customs, culture, food habits and traditions and after a long struggle, today the region enjoys its status as a separate state, aided by the efforts of a cross section of Telangana?s society.
Commemorating the formation of Telangana, the state government has organized grand celebrations from June 2-7, 2015. The events have been scheduled at 29 venues in Hyderabad namely Gunpark, Telangana People?s Plaza, Parade Grounds , Ravindra Bharathi, Lalitha Kala Thoranam, Harihara Kala Bhavan, ICCR Art Gallery, Qutub Shahi Tombs, Golkonda Fort, Taramathi Baradari, Chowmahalla Palace, Shilparamam, Shilpa Kala Vedika, Telugu University Auditorium, State Gallery of Art, Quli Qutub Shah Stadium, Charminar, Khilwat Ground , Urdu Maskan (Opp. Chow Mohallah Palace), Salarjung Museum ? Auditorium, State Museum, Golden Threshold, Hussain Sagar, Hotel Tourism Plaza, Gachi Bowli Stadium, MCRHRD, Kalinga Cultural Trust Bhavan, CESS, Panjagutta and Tank Bund. In addition to this, Telangana Bhavan, New Delhi has also been decked up for the celebrations, which marks a momentous occasion in the history of Telangana.
There would be impressive fireworks on display at places like Madhapur, Seri Lingampally, Charminar, People?s Plaza, L.B. Nagar, Habsiguda / Tarnaka, Banjara Hills, Hitech City, Cantonement / Malkajgiri, Jeedimetla / Qutbullapur, Kukatpally and Karmanghat as part of the celebrations. Three monuments have been identified for 3d mapping namely Clock Tower, Buddha Statue and Kachiguda Station,
The events would be flagged off after Floral Tributes to martyrs memorial at Gun Park on June 2nd followed by unveiling of National Flag and March Past by NCC, Army, Police & TSS Artists and Distribution of Awards.
There are a range of cultural events and programmes planned for the occasion such as Cultural Activities by Oggu Artists, Chidatala Ramayanam, Chindu Yaksha Gaanam, Folk Songs, Dance Ballets, Ghazals by Sri Zaheeruddin Baber, Sri Zia Ul Hassan, Smt Mala Bararia and others. In addition to this, there would be tribal dance events marking dance forms from various states in India. Literary Activities including Debates, Seminars, Kavi Sammelanams, Avadhanams are being organized as part of the event.
Other programmes include Telangana Food Festival, Water sports ? Regetta, Hindi & English Literary Activities on Telangana, Painting Exhibition, Perini Dance, Oggu Dolu, Screening of Telangana Films, Photo Gallery on Telangana & Hyderabad of Raja Deena Dayal's Photographs, Naubat & Shehnai etc.
