Telangana Tourism Road Show in China

Telangana Tourism has participated in China International Travel Mart (CITM) in Kunming( Yunnan Province) from 12-11-2015 to 15-11-2015. This is one of the largest tourism platforms in the Asia Pacific. Participants in CITM come from all sectors of the travel industry, including international and domestic tourist organizations(including China’s 31 provinces, autonomous regions and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), travel agencies, hotels, airlines and related travel companies.

Telangana rolled out a Tourism Road Show in Beijing on Wednesday. Mr. B. Venkatesham, IAS., Secretary of Youth affairs, Tourism & Culture Department lead the delegation from Government of Telangana to bring its rich Tourism & Cultural resources to Chinese tour operators. Dr Adam Wu, COO of CBN Travel & MICE and World Travel Online, presented at the event to gave great support and assistance along with Smt Sunita M.Bhagwat, IFS., Director of Tourism and Mr. Harikrishna Mamidi, Director of Culture.

Telangana is a newly formed state of India, and its capital city, Hyderabad, with a population of 6.8million, is the 5th largest city in India. Hyderabad is a travel destination with many awards. For example, annual guide of 'Traveller' magazine of National Geographic, ranked Hyderabad as the “Second best place in the World that one should see in 2015”.

Mr. B. Venkatesham said, ”In July, India launched e-tourist visa facility for China, and this move would no doubt draw more Chinese tourists. We believe the government will continue to streamline visas for Chinese.” As for the flights, he said that many cities in China had launched direct flights to New Delhi and Bombay, so that Chinese could took a connecting flight at these places. Or Chinese visitors could transit in London, Dubai, Singapore, Bangkok and other international metropolises.
