Lakes are the little water bodies that appeal to one and all, one such alluring Lake in India is the Palair Lake, which is located in the Khammam district of Telangana which is one of the beautiful lakes in India. This breathtaking Lake is a part of the Palair Village which lies in Kusumanchi Mandal within Khammam district. The lake is at a distance of about 30 kilometers from the main city and can be accessed easily by road. Thought the lake is man-made, we can find it equally beautiful like a natural lake. It is actually a balancing reservoir of the Lal Bahadur Canal, which was built as a part of the Nagarjunasagar project. The lake has been constructed over an area of approximately 1748 hectares and it has a capacity of storing close to 2.5 TMC water.
The water from the Palair Lake is used to serve irrigational purposes, and it is a quiet famous spot for fish farming. The Lake is a very popular tourist attraction of the Khammam city because it provides both water sports as well as some adrenaline adventure activities. The Palair Lake also has a huge range of prawns and fresh water fish which are not only cultivated here, but are also prepared as mouth melting delicacies for the tourists.
